For more than a decade, Low Country audiences have been swinging to the sound of the HH Big Band. With soaring horns, toe tapping rhythms and smooth vocals, the band continues the traditions of the swing legends like Glenn Miller while embracing the pop songs of the Beatles, Stevie Wonder and Michael Buble. Their high energy performance of hit songs from the 40’s to the present day will have you dancing in the aisles. The talented musicians who make up the more than 20 piece ensemble have played with music greats including Buddy Rich, James Brown, and the Righteous, Brothers. From the syncopated samba rhythms of “It Better Be Tonight” to the driving beat of “I’m So Excited”, the diverse repertoire of the HHP Big Band has something for everyone.
Our vast repertoire gives us the flexibility to create a tailor-made program for your next event. In addition to performing at Shelter Cove and Indigo Run, the Band provided entertainment at The Italian Festival on Hilton Head. The band has also performed at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), and also on Skidway Island, Savannah. While your organization enjoys our music, you will also be supporting young musicians in the Low Country. The Hilton Head Big Band is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to providing opportunities for the next generation of musicians. Through the collection and repair of used instruments, and scholarships to Hilton Head Junior Jazz Camp, we help disadvantaged young musicians fulfill their dreams.
HH Big Band members donate their time, energy, and talents to help make music accessible to everyone and to raise the needed funds to support our mission.
Founded over 12 years ago in Hilton Head Plantation, the
HHBB features full Sax, Trumpet, Trombone and Rhythm
sections, as well as vocalists. Our extensive repertoire
includes music covering over 5 decades of song topping charts.
We are inspired by playing great music and helping young people achieve their musical goals.
Our goal is to be the best band we can be, to fund scholarships, and put instruments in the hands of talented young musicians who would otherwise be unable to afford them.
